PRE-CMS NEWS: February 19, 2007: How to install a Sirius Stiletto car kit. Not the simplest job, but entirely doable. Must purchase auxilary input device from BMW for $80, and the car kit for $69 from Best Buy or other electronics store: http://www.z4um.com/viewtopic.php?p=357684#357684
August 9 , 2006: Toxic bird poo removed. Meguire's ScratchX saved they day ... then a nice coat of Zymol to follow. Good as new. Pic's here
May 3, 2006: The M Roadster finally went into the shop for the 1200 mile (break-in) service (1201 on the odometer). No other issues to speak of, other than one minor recall service they will be performing. I had the service engine soon light come on, but it went off when I got gas, so I have to assume I either got bad gas or the gas cap was not tight. They are performing the car-key memory so that the doors lock when driving, daytime running lights are activated, and both doors unlock with only one push of the keyfob. Looking forward to getting it back and seeing what those extra 2000 RPM's feel like that I have been avoiding religiously.
Other Notes (1): Started using P21S (wheel cleaner) after wheel waxing and my days of having to scrub wheels are over!!!! This stuff is amazing, as long as you don't let the break dust get too bad, just spray it on, and hose it off. Car wash time just dropped in half! Ordered a 1 litre refill today.
Other Notes (2): I will never buy another convertible that doesn't open the top from the key fob. There is nothing cooler than walking up to your car and having the top down by the time you get there. Why aren't other convertible manufacturer's doing this? BMW rocks!
Other Notes (3): Just found out that my car has headlight washers. But they are supposedly operated via the windshield washers, so they will likely never get used. Cool to know I have them though. Also found out that the Carver stereo is THX certified, and decodes MP3 disc's ... very nice, and unexpected.
Other Notes (4): A friend of the family bought a C6 Corvette ... beautiful car; looked at it seriously when buying the M Roadster, but the American quality thing came into play and I sacrificed some horsepower in order to gain quality. Thus far, I don't regret my decision ... but 400HP would sure be nice. There might be a Dinan Supercharger in my car's future, but not anytime soon because with just 330HP still keeps the heart pumping ... it's downright scary at times.
Other Notes (5): Still haven't gotten the car into the detailers (East Bay BMW owe's me a professional polishing because it was delivered in less-than-satisfactory condition). This also means that I have not not got my painted reflectors put on. Mental note to self ... CALL THEM and set up an appointment!
April 6, 2006: Wheel waxed yesterday, and put RaggTopp on the top. I'm anxious to see if the brake dust really is reduced. Drove the car to work today ... the best weather we have had in weeks.
April 3, 2006: Received car back from B&S Hacienda, although not really happy. They forgot to do the reflectors when they had the bumper off, I was pissed - they knew it. They have ordered new reflectors for my car and will paint them. They also didn't get to detail the paint because of the horrible weather we are having, my guess is that they will do this when I return the car to have the reflectors installed. The car is in the garage with the car cover on because the weather is nasty ... and I fly to Alaska next week for business. It will probably remain covered for the next two weeks.
March 28, 2006: Delivered car to B&S Hacienda Auto Body to have the front bumper repainted due to damage in shipping. They are also going to detail the paint and paint my four corner reflectors.
March 26, 2006: First trip in car to Sacramento up Highway 160. Very fun drive, but not very relaxing because of needing to modulate the RPMs continuously.
March 25, 2006: Took Delivery of my new 2006 M Roadster.
